The Ultimate Guide to Cancun for Young Travelers

The ultimate guide to Cancun Beach for Young Travelers

Cancun Beach is recognized for being one of the best tourist destinations in Mexico. 30 years ago, it was just beach, vegetation and few constructions. Now thousands of spring breakers and young people around the world travel to Cancun to spend their vacation not only for its beaches but for this big avenue called “Zona Hotelera” surrounded by the Caribbean beaches, hotels, nightlife and luxury restaurants.

I did my ultimate guide to Cancun Beach for young travelers:

Stay-in-Grand-OasisGrand Oasis CancunThis is an all-inclusive resort where many young travelers choose for its fun atmosphere. It counts with many entertainment activities such as beach games, pool games, dj parties, golf courses, dance lessons, watersports and has one of the biggest pools of all the resorts in Cancun. Also counts with a private beach only for guests. More than 15 restaurants are at the Grand Oasis, I recommend the Mexican Sarabe if you want to eat mexican food. Some bars and discos have free entrance for guests. How to get there?

    Have-a-beach-dayDrinks Cancun

I supposed you can´t wait to jump in the Caribbean beach. It is proved that spending a day in contact with the sea helps to release the stress and to relax. Don’t forget your sunscreen, the sun is super strong in Cancun.
It depends on where you stay, some hotels offer private beach; but if you want to go to a public beach (which are in excellent condition), I recommend “Playa Forum” (located behind the Party Zone of Cancun at Km. 10), this beach is very amused for the music and cool atmosphere, you can relax drinking your favorite coctail and play a volleyball game at the seashore.

    Take-at-least-one-tourXelha-Cancuuun

There are a lot of tours in Cancun that you can enjoy: aquatic parks, visit the Wonder of Chichen Itza, snorkel in the reef, scuba dive, ride in the pirate cruise, go to a cenote and lots of more tours you can do. I recommend to take the tour of Xel-ha, is the best aquatic park in the Mayan Riviera (30 minutes away from Cancun), you can snorkel with the tropical fish, eat in one of the many buffets, explore the caves, cliff climb, zipline, swing on a rope, bike tours and other more activities. Party-in-the-party-zone-of-cancunCancun-PArty

Located in the center of the big avenue “Zona Hotelera”. There is the most famous nightlife area of Cancun. “The Party Zone”. The discos go all night 7 days a week, there are fancy bars and also downright funky style. Live pop music to ultra loud disco music, it depends on your mood. There are many night shows from famous artists in the discos and bikini contests, night shows are undefined. There’s also “Ladies Night” where women drink for free. My best recommendations for discos are: Palazzo, Mandala and Daddy’O.

  • 6 Life Lessons Travel Has Taught Me

6 Life Lessons Travel Has Taught Me

I decided to write this article for all those travelers who are wondering why traveling changes your perspective of life. Getting out of my comfort zone and leaving the place where I was born seemed difficult at first but there is these quote that i love “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”. Now I love traveling, is part of myself. These are some Life Lessons Travel Has Taught Me:IMG_0943

    1. Helped Me To Appreciate And Learn From Other Cultures

Traveling and meeting new people from different parts of the world made me realize how important is for them their own traditions, is part of who they are. No country or even a small city thinks the same way. All of this has helped me appreciate other cultures and remember mine, also to know that we are all human beings and have goodness within us. Before you know it, you’ll be picking up on local customs and falling in love with food you can barely even pronounce.

    2. Learned To Live The Moment

Traveling is a feast for my eyes, makes me want to stop for a minute and appreciate that unique moment. It is rare to be checking your phone texts when you are on the way to a place you have never visited or facing a wonder that takes your breath away. Traveling teaches us to unplug, explore and discover new parts of ourselves. Waking up in a new, unexplored country incites excitement, making it nearly impossible to worry about the future or obsess about the past. The difference between experiencing every second of your life instead of dwelling on things out of your control is palpable and it’s a lesson that’s one of the most important to take back home.

    3. Learned Not To Be Afraid

Personally when I first travel to a country that speak a different language, I was afraid of what people think of me and I had fear of failure. Failure will always happen, but instead of avoiding it, I’ve tried to adopt the mentality of A. not letting a fear of failing keep me from trying something new, and B. if I do fail, then I’ll deal with it and try to learn from it. Life is pretty boring without getting out of the box, I didn’t care if i messed all up but I was sure I was doing my best. So, get out there and forget about what people will think about you! Try to talk to other travelers, try eating that weird food you see in the showcase of a restaurant, jump from that bongee, buy that ticket to the beach you wanted to go long time ago, GO!!! and dont let fear of failure hold you back.

    4. Helped Me To Be Organized

I have been about to lose my luggage and travel documents. Fortunately, I was able to recover them and lucky to not have lost that trip. The last time that happened to me, it was my passport and my travel camera, I felt so bad about myself that since that day I commited to a promise on never ever again left my stuff everywhere.

    5. Helped Me Prioritize My Things

Getting out for a bit of what I normally do help me organize my mind, make better plans for my future and listen to what I want for my life and what Im seeking for. This is very good to get back in track.

    6. Life’s Short, For Fuck’s Sake, Do What Makes You Happy:

Living new experiences day by day and meeting new people is something that fills me with joy. I count myself incredibly lucky that I haven’t suffered any major accidents, setbacks, or losses that have kept me from following my dreams.
Plenty of people around the world aren’t so lucky. Sometimes it takes a major event or tragedy to make you realize how short and precious life is. You have to make the most of it.

Also at night they are lighted with different colors. Spring is full of pretty flowers and in fall with canadian leaves.

    2. Visit Clifton Hill

  • How To Survive An Airport Layover

How To Survive An Airport Layover

No one is ever too thrilled to sit around in an airport all day on the way from Point A to Point B, but sometimes an airport layover is unavoidable. Whether yours is a couple hours or even longer though, it doesn’t need to feel interminable—you just need to come up with a plan for what you’ll do while you wait for your connection. Here are some tips:

     Bring snacks

How to Survive an airport layover

Buying food at the airport can get expensive, so if you know you have a layover, you may want to think ahead and bring some snacks with you. There are some TSA restrictions as to what food you can carry through security with you, but there are plenty of things you can bring. Nothing makes a layover (or a flight) drag like being hungry the whole time, so make sure you’ve got something to munch on!

     Bring a drink

You can’t bring large liquids through security with you, but there’s nothing stopping you from bringing an empty water bottle through with you and refilling it at either the drinking fountains or (depending on the airport) the water refill stations set up specifically for that purpose. Remember that you can also bring small bottles of alcohol through security as long as they’re less than 3.4oz in size and fit into a quart-sized Ziplock. Again, things at the airport tend to be expensive, so rather than shell out the big bucks to keep hydrated, bring your own beverages.

     Figure out where things are

Looking for restaurants, play zones, restroom locations, airline lounges or something else? You can use the GateGuru app to find everything you need, or see if you can spot an airport map. If you’re really turned about, remember that you can also ask security guards or gate agents and they can usually point you in the right direction.

     Go shopping

How to Survive an airport layover

I’m not really a big shopper, but usually when I have a really long airport layover, I take a little time to browse through the duty-free shops. Many airports offer a broad range of shops where you can buy everything from souvenirs to electronics to books and more. Even if you don’t want to buy anything, it can be fun to do a little window-shopping—plus, you’ll be able to stretch your legs a little before you get on your next flight!

Think about getting out into the city

How to Survive an Airport Layover

If you have one of those long layovers (5+ hours), you might be able to head out of the airport and explore the city. You should look into visa requirements if you’re traveling internationally, and you’ll need to make sure you leave yourself enough time to get into the city, back out to the airport and through security. But there’s no reason you can’t turn your long layover into a fun part of your trip. Some airports even offer free packaged tours, so you don’t have to figure out the logistics on your own.

     Stream a movie

How to Survive an Airport Layover

We’re all used to streaming movies on flights, but if you can find WiFi in the terminal (it’s becoming increasingly more common these days), you can stream Netflix. Of course, if you’re traveling abroad, you may be faced with an error message since Netflix restricts its services by country because of contractual agreements with the owners of the movies’ rights. But you can install a Virtual Private Network (VPN) on your smartphone, tablet or laptop and use that to hide your real location. It’ll send Netflix a fake IP address, making it appear as though you were back in your home country.

Brush up on your language skills

How to survive an Airport Layover

If you’re traveling abroad and want to learn the local language prior to your arrival, the airport can be a great place to cram in some last-minute language lessons. There are a lot of language-learning apps that can help you out, but my personal favorite is Duolingo, which incorporates reading, speaking, listening and writing activities into one app. You can use it to learn a bunch of different languages, from Spanish to Ukrainian—and best of all, it’s totally free!

    Play airport bingo

How to Survive an Airport Layover

There are some things that you only see in an airport. If you’re traveling with friends or family, turn your layover into a friendly competition by printing off some airport bingo sheets ahead of time. You can find plenty of free sheets online, or create your own. Next thing you know, it’ll be time to board.

    Get comfortable

How to Survive an Airport Layover

Airports aren’t known for having the most comfortable seating in the world. Depending on how long your layover is, it might be worth springing for that airport lounge or a dayroom at the airport hotel. Or just check out Sleeping in Airports to see if there are any quiet, comfortable areas in your airport where you can relax for a bit.

    Take a nap

  • Why december is a great time to visit Cancun?

Why december is a great time to visit Cancun?

Why december is a great time to visit Cancun?

Visiting Cancun in December is one of the best choices you can do. I spent my last 3 Christmas and New year’s Eve in Cancun so I decided to write this article for all those travelers who are considering spending their holidays in Cancun with family or friends.

As you know or I guess you have heard, Cancun is one of the best tourist destinations throughout Mexico; you can enjoy the best parties, archaeological sites, tours or if you are looking for a little more relaxing holidays, you can enjoy the Caribbean beaches and the infinite variety of services offered by the hotels and resorts.

These are the reasons in my experience of why December is a great time to visit Cancun:

    1. The weather

Let’s start with this important point. All year, seriously, Cancun has hot days over 30 degrees Celsius, especially in Summer. I really love the warm weather to go to the beach, but not too much. Cancun is a very humid place, maybe I sound exaggerated but when it’s summer and I go out for a walk, I’m already sweating in 5 minutes.. (I don’t like that much) That is why december is my favorite month of the year; temperatures are cool and pleasant, not cold or too hot for a day at the beach, sometimes it rises until 28 degrees celsius and at night it drops to 8 degrees. No storms!!

A perfect day in Cancun for this month is: A day at the beach with my fav beverage, a lot of sunscreen playing volleyball with friends or family and a night in a club like Palazzo or Mandala!

    2. It’s a perfect destination to spend Christmas and New Year!

If you think Cancun is not the place to feel the family atmosphere these holidays, it’s completely untrue! Cancun offers Christmas dinners and shows at hotels and Restaurants in the Hotel Zone; the good thing is they already have prepared packages for those days and prices are not expensive. I saw Christmas dinners at Hotel Riu in Cancun are beautiful with sea view and Titanic enviroment.

But if you are looking for something more crazy and fun, Cancun offers concerts by famous artists and shows at the nightclubs of Cancun!

So if you want to reserve any of those packages for Christmas or New Year, do it with anticipation, not the same day because prices might rice and everything will be already occupied. (happend to me once)

    3. December welcomes the bull sharks

If you love aquatic animals and diving, TARA! Bull sharks spend their holidays in Cancun. It may sound very scary, I haven’t tried diving with them but all the time I’ve dived in Cancun makes me wanna swim with sharks this december! If you have not dived and want to try for the first time this experience there are many diving tours where you can see the underwater museum “MUSA”, coral reefs and hundreds of colorful fish in the sea.

    4. It’s a great time to meet tourists from around the world

December is a month where most of all people travel around the world and Cancun takes big place. You will find Asians, Europeans, Americans, Canadias and many more tourists from all continents! If you want to have fun with international style I recommend visiting the Palazzo nightclub, this is where many hotels offer packages for tourists for being a very fun and extravagant disco!

I have already told you my reasons of why December is a great time to visit Cancun! Do you have any suggestions or comments you would like to share? You can comment below and I will gladly answer, I would love to help and talk to other travelers! 🙂

    Happy Holidays!
