    Chichen Itza Spring Equinox 2016

    Chichen Itza Spring Equinox 2016

An equinox is an astronomical event that happens when the sun is positioned directly over the equator. The word “Equinox” has a meaning which is “Equal Night”.. that is because on the EQUINOX the night is EQUAL IN LENGHT TO THE DAY. It occurs twice a year, around march 20 and september 23. The day when the spring equinox happens mark the end of winter and beginning of spring.
Each year thousands of pilgrims and curiosity seekers travel from all around the world to Yucatan to watch this phenomenon.

How it works?Equinox-Chichen-1A man hold a crystal above his head as he and over 15 thousand people congregated in front of the famous pyramid at Chichen-Itza, Mexico to celebrate the arrival of the Equinox signaling the beginning of Spring. The famous Maya ruin is popular at the Equinox when the serpents back shows on the side of the stairway that leads to the top.
At the exact time of the equinox a play of light and shadow creates the appearance of a snake descending in the Pyramid of Kukulkan or also named as “El Castillo”. This shadow snake is composed of seven or so triangular shadows. The sinking sun seems to give life to the shadow which takes a look like it is moving. CHICHEN-ITZA-QUINOX-2If you have a car you must take advantage to see the equinox light in Dzibilchaltún, another archaeological site, where the sun aligns directly with the main door of the Templo de las Siete Muñecas.

  • The Ultimate Guide to Cancun for Female Travelers

The Ultimate Guide to Cancun for Female Travelers

The Ultimate Cancun Guide for Female Travelers

Every year, thousands of female travelers, young and old, come to Cancun to have a beach vacation. I am sure you want this vacation to be worth and unforgettable: enjoy the cristaline beaches, hotels at the seashore, nice restaurants, party until 4 am and great activities that in Cancun you would love to do. The main tourist area in Cancun is a safe place. I did this ultimate guide to Cancun for Female Travelers with helpful tips, things you can do and places you can visit when comming to this paradisical place, all of this is focus on female travelers:

Don’t spend all your money in a resort:

    hamton-Inn-Cancun
    Holiday Inn Cancun Arenas

I think is better to book a low cost hotel than paying a lot of money for a resort because Cancun offers a lot of things to do and you are going to be most of the time outside. In this Cancun guide I recommend you to book in the Hotel Zone. My recommendations for good service and low budget hotels are: Holiday Inn Arenas, Real Inn, Hotel Sotavento and Yacht Club, Calypso Hotel Cancun, Hotel Cancun Clipper Club, Mayafair Design Hotel and the Grand Royal Lagoon.

    Visit Isla Mujeres: Isla-Mujeres-ZiplineIsla-Mujeres-BeachIsla-Mujeres-Golf-cart

This is another great place for this Cancun guide, the Island is located 13 kilometers away from Cancun, to get there you must take a ferry in Puerto Juarez dock. This is a paradisiacal island because it has white sand beaches, water sports, the tour riding all Isla Mujeres in a golf cart and for the underwater museum where you can snorkel or dive. Tickets to Isla Mujeres costs about 15 dlls roundtrip, the ferry ride is great if you sit at the roof watching the ocean view and listening the music they play at the ride, it takes about 30 minutes to get to Isla. At night there are some beach bars and discos that you can go.

    Scuba Dive:Diving-Cancun

Cancun is one of the best diving destinations in the world. If you have never dive before you are going to the right place, hundreds of beautiful reefs and color fishes are underwater, I love diving in Cancun cause the water is very clear and you can see long distance underwater. There are special diving packages for beginners, the first class starts in a pool and then you go to the ocean after knowing everything to dive correctly and safe. Scuba-dive-cancun

    Nightlife: palazzo

Nightlife in Cancun is amazing. The discos are numerous and each one has a unique style. Depending on what kind of music you want to dance you will find it. In this Cancun Guide I recommend for female travelers “Palazzo”. I had a great time there, people from all over the world and great night shows. This is a glamorous club with pop and electronic music where most young travelers around the world go. Normally hotels with big groups of travelers invite them to Palazzo for its great atmosphere.

    Playa del Carmen: coco-bongo

This is an ideal place for Female Travelers who want the most fun of all places close to Cancun. Here is located the famous Fifth Avenue: hundreds of bars, shopping stores and restaurants. If you want to bring souvenirs for your friends back home, you will find everything in the 5th Avenue. The best nightlife is in Playa de Carmen, Coco Bongo is the most famous for having artists and night shows, very fun and entertaining! Some other clubs are very nice on the seashore with famous djs.

    Visit Chichen Itza:Chichen-itza-girlchichen-itza

You can not miss to visit one of the 7 wonders of the World “Chichen Itza“. It is the most famous Mayan archaeological site in Mexico for its history and constructions built by the ancients. There are several tours in the daytime where you can observe the pyramids, the culture and visit the cenote. Every tuesday at night, Chichen Itza Light and Sound offers a night show on the principal buildings of this site.

  • The Ultimate Guide to Cancun for Young Travelers

The Ultimate Guide to Cancun for Young Travelers

The ultimate guide to Cancun Beach for Young Travelers

Cancun Beach is recognized for being one of the best tourist destinations in Mexico. 30 years ago, it was just beach, vegetation and few constructions. Now thousands of spring breakers and young people around the world travel to Cancun to spend their vacation not only for its beaches but for this big avenue called “Zona Hotelera” surrounded by the Caribbean beaches, hotels, nightlife and luxury restaurants.

I did my ultimate guide to Cancun Beach for young travelers:

Stay-in-Grand-OasisGrand Oasis CancunThis is an all-inclusive resort where many young travelers choose for its fun atmosphere. It counts with many entertainment activities such as beach games, pool games, dj parties, golf courses, dance lessons, watersports and has one of the biggest pools of all the resorts in Cancun. Also counts with a private beach only for guests. More than 15 restaurants are at the Grand Oasis, I recommend the Mexican Sarabe if you want to eat mexican food. Some bars and discos have free entrance for guests. How to get there?

    Have-a-beach-dayDrinks Cancun

I supposed you can´t wait to jump in the Caribbean beach. It is proved that spending a day in contact with the sea helps to release the stress and to relax. Don’t forget your sunscreen, the sun is super strong in Cancun.
It depends on where you stay, some hotels offer private beach; but if you want to go to a public beach (which are in excellent condition), I recommend “Playa Forum” (located behind the Party Zone of Cancun at Km. 10), this beach is very amused for the music and cool atmosphere, you can relax drinking your favorite coctail and play a volleyball game at the seashore.

    Take-at-least-one-tourXelha-Cancuuun

There are a lot of tours in Cancun that you can enjoy: aquatic parks, visit the Wonder of Chichen Itza, snorkel in the reef, scuba dive, ride in the pirate cruise, go to a cenote and lots of more tours you can do. I recommend to take the tour of Xel-ha, is the best aquatic park in the Mayan Riviera (30 minutes away from Cancun), you can snorkel with the tropical fish, eat in one of the many buffets, explore the caves, cliff climb, zipline, swing on a rope, bike tours and other more activities. Party-in-the-party-zone-of-cancunCancun-PArty

Located in the center of the big avenue “Zona Hotelera”. There is the most famous nightlife area of Cancun. “The Party Zone”. The discos go all night 7 days a week, there are fancy bars and also downright funky style. Live pop music to ultra loud disco music, it depends on your mood. There are many night shows from famous artists in the discos and bikini contests, night shows are undefined. There’s also “Ladies Night” where women drink for free. My best recommendations for discos are: Palazzo, Mandala and Daddy’O.
