Also at night they are lighted with different colors. Spring is full of pretty flowers and in fall with canadian leaves.

  • Places to visit in Christmas

    Places to visit in Christmas

    New York.

For most of the people, Christmas is the best time for the city of New York. During this time, people tend to go shopping at retail markets, ice skating at Rockefeller Center and many more events, which is why New York is known as the city of holidays. On December 25 is Christmas Day and New Yorkers leave their jobs to join the family, in many cases, out of town.

    Germany.

Christmas in Berlin should be on your bucket list. This monumental city offers tourist and citizens one of the best Christmas festival, the city is covered in snow and combined with colored lights.

To combat the cold, there is nothing better to have a typical bratwurst accompanied by mulled wine in a street stall. Spending Christmas time in Strasbourg is wonderful, germanic traditions, can boast the oldest Christmas market in France.

This is the Christkindelsmärik, that between Christmas decorations and nativity scenes also offers rich confection accompanied by mulled wine. Also the markets offers the flavors of Alsace in the Place des Meuniers; or the Bredle in Austerlitz Square, famous for its delicious Christmas cookies.

    London.

London is one of the World’s capitals where it is worth traveling at Christmas. The city sparkles with all garlands games and lights illuminating parks, streets and malls. The Trafalgar Square Christmas tree, the ice rink under the London Eye, known as the Eyeskate, or Winter Wonderland Christmas market in the center of Hyde Park are just a few of the attractions to live as a true Londoner. For the sweet tooth, it’s a good time to test the English Christmas pudding.

    Rio de Janeiro.

Joy and fun in the sun of popular rhythms that invites you to the party. Free from any shelter, provides the world’s largest in the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon in Rio de Janeiro tree.

    Paris.

Paris monuments adorned all with the arrival of Christmas. The ‘City of Light’ shines brighter than ever and that’s why she could not forget Christmas in that ranking. Memorable view is illuminated Champs Elysees, as well as department stores such as Printemps and Lafayette or the big wheel in the Place de la Concorde. To celebrate well the last day of the year, nothing better than a romantic dinner at one of the restaurants of the Eiffel Tower. The views over the city certainly leaves us speechless.

If you have the opportunity to enjoy Christmas and New Year’s eve would be definitely something you will never forget in your life and hope that you enjoy with loved ones and everything is prosperity and love, this are the sincere wishes of those who take part of Discovery Mundo and certainly we hope to see you soon when you get to one of these destinations.

  • Why december is a great time to visit Cancun?

Why december is a great time to visit Cancun?

Why december is a great time to visit Cancun?

Visiting Cancun in December is one of the best choices you can do. I spent my last 3 Christmas and New year’s Eve in Cancun so I decided to write this article for all those travelers who are considering spending their holidays in Cancun with family or friends.

As you know or I guess you have heard, Cancun is one of the best tourist destinations throughout Mexico; you can enjoy the best parties, archaeological sites, tours or if you are looking for a little more relaxing holidays, you can enjoy the Caribbean beaches and the infinite variety of services offered by the hotels and resorts.

These are the reasons in my experience of why December is a great time to visit Cancun:

    1. The weather

Let’s start with this important point. All year, seriously, Cancun has hot days over 30 degrees Celsius, especially in Summer. I really love the warm weather to go to the beach, but not too much. Cancun is a very humid place, maybe I sound exaggerated but when it’s summer and I go out for a walk, I’m already sweating in 5 minutes.. (I don’t like that much) That is why december is my favorite month of the year; temperatures are cool and pleasant, not cold or too hot for a day at the beach, sometimes it rises until 28 degrees celsius and at night it drops to 8 degrees. No storms!!

A perfect day in Cancun for this month is: A day at the beach with my fav beverage, a lot of sunscreen playing volleyball with friends or family and a night in a club like Palazzo or Mandala!

    2. It’s a perfect destination to spend Christmas and New Year!

If you think Cancun is not the place to feel the family atmosphere these holidays, it’s completely untrue! Cancun offers Christmas dinners and shows at hotels and Restaurants in the Hotel Zone; the good thing is they already have prepared packages for those days and prices are not expensive. I saw Christmas dinners at Hotel Riu in Cancun are beautiful with sea view and Titanic enviroment.

But if you are looking for something more crazy and fun, Cancun offers concerts by famous artists and shows at the nightclubs of Cancun!

So if you want to reserve any of those packages for Christmas or New Year, do it with anticipation, not the same day because prices might rice and everything will be already occupied. (happend to me once)

    3. December welcomes the bull sharks

If you love aquatic animals and diving, TARA! Bull sharks spend their holidays in Cancun. It may sound very scary, I haven’t tried diving with them but all the time I’ve dived in Cancun makes me wanna swim with sharks this december! If you have not dived and want to try for the first time this experience there are many diving tours where you can see the underwater museum “MUSA”, coral reefs and hundreds of colorful fish in the sea.

    4. It’s a great time to meet tourists from around the world

December is a month where most of all people travel around the world and Cancun takes big place. You will find Asians, Europeans, Americans, Canadias and many more tourists from all continents! If you want to have fun with international style I recommend visiting the Palazzo nightclub, this is where many hotels offer packages for tourists for being a very fun and extravagant disco!

I have already told you my reasons of why December is a great time to visit Cancun! Do you have any suggestions or comments you would like to share? You can comment below and I will gladly answer, I would love to help and talk to other travelers! 🙂

    Happy Holidays!

  • World’s weirdest places to scuba dive

World’s weirdest places to scuba dive

Hi there, do you know you can scuba dive between two continents?

I have did number 4, hope I can dive in all of them! Here are the world’s weirdest places to scuba dive:

    1. Continental Rift in Iceland

    SCUBADIVE-INDONESIA

One of the top places to dive in the world, here’s where you can scuba dive between two continents. The rift of Silfra in Island Thingvellier Park is where the tectonic plates meet. Some rather diving, others just snorkeling.
A very surprising thing is the visibility in the rift of Silfra, about 100 meters. All divers say they feel flying on space when they try this experience. The reason for this water visibility are that the water is really cold (2°C-4°C all year) that is also becomes ice for the close glaciar water of Langjökull and this water is filtered through porous inderground lava for 30-100 years until it reaches the north end of Thingvellir lake. This is water is so pristine that you an drink it anytime during your diving or snorkel!

    2. Mysterious Ruins in Japan

    scuba-dive-2

On the southern coast of Yonaguni, Japan, lie this mysterious ruins of long time ago. Some think alliens made them, others think is just a World Nature Wonder! This mysterious ruins underwater continue attracting fearless divers!

    3. Indonesia active volcano underwater

    scuba-dive-3

You want to see a volcano from close without the threat of toxic air and lava flows? Yes it can be possible and it can be done at Banua Wuhu! This underwater volcano rises more than 400 meters from the sea floor. Exotic animals like sponges habit here. There is a unique and diverse world here. You might think it is dangerous but no, the only thing that is a little uncomfortable it’s if you don’t wear the right dive suit.

    4. MUSA Underwater Museum in Cancun, Mexico

    scuba-dive-4

This is the one I’ve dived into, it was one of the best experiences. If you head to the Caribbean in Mexico. There is the MUSA, an underwater museum with more than 400 statues surrounded by marine life and coral reefs. Each statue has an eye formation to protect theirselves and the sea life. The moment you are there in front of one, you might feel a little nervous!

    5. Nepture Memorial Reef (UNDERWATER CEMENTERY)

    scuba-dive-5

A little more than 5 kilometers from the Coast of Miami, there’s this different diving experience and a little creepy. An artificial reef that becomes a CEMENTERY! It is a truly world like no other. This cemetery beneath the waves is a special spot that people can make their final resting place.

  • What to do when you arrive to Cancun

What to do when you arrive to Cancun

Arriving to Cancun can be very fun and exciting since the moment you set foot in the Caribbean. But as in any destination, It is best to come prepared and avoid any inconvenience to your arrival.

What is the best? I made a list of things you should do when you arrive to Cancun.

    1. Know how to transport yourself from the airport

What to do when you arrive to CancunAt Cancun Airport, you will find on each corner all kind of vendors who want to take you to your hotel. But if you want to SAVE MONEY AND TIME waiting to make your reservation there, I suggest you book your transportation ONLINE before traveling.
If you are traveling with family or friends, the best way is to book a private shuttle to take all of you to your hotel or stay without delays. Some of these shuttles make a quick stop at a convenience store in case you want something to drink along the way.

    2. Reserve your room hotel

What to do when you arrive to CancunCancun counts with more than 1200 hotels where you can stay in case you don’t know where to go. Some are cheaper than others. It is always better to come prepared. As I mentioned earlier, online booking will always be cheaper than if you book directly at the hotel, don’t forget this!

    3. Enjoy a tour in Cancun

What to do when you arrive to CancunIf you are looking What to do when you arrive to Cancun, you can not miss one of the hundreds of tours that are in Cancun! Including the Riviera Maya, Tulum & Yucatán. In my experience, these are the best 5 tours recommended:

-Xelha: A water park for all ages in which you can perform hundreds of activities: Snorkeling, swimming with sharks, buffets, pools, cenotes, caverns, biking, ziplines and more.

-Chichen Itza: Do not miss one of the 7 World Wonders. Chichen Itza is part of this and include good tours to know all the archaeological site. There is a very cool tour called “Chichen Itza Light & Sound” in which you can enjoy a day and the night show.

-Isla Mujeres: A beautiful paradise island located 30 minutes from Cancun, you must take a ferry to get there. What you can do at Isla Mujeres is a day at the beach, travel around the island on a golf cart and spend the night in one of the many bars or clubs. Isla Mujeres sunsets are unforgettable.

-Tulum: In my opinion, Tulum is one of the best beaches and destinations of Cancun I visited. This is an ecological destination where in the evening, darkness let you see the starry sky. I recommend you book a hotel at the sea shore and close to the restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious dinner with music and shows.

-Scuba Diving: If you want to feel what is to live in the World of Nemo, you must dive in Cancun. It has coral reefs of all colors and exotic fish. It is a unique opportunity that you will never forget. Cancun Diving offers several tours during the day and at night. Click here for more information.

    4. Go eat Mexican Food

What to do when you arrive to CancunOne of the main desires of the foreigners is to try Mexican food, because it is unique and can not be imitated in any other country. I suppose that you want to taste the best tacos in Cancun. I recommend you to go to Cancun Downtown (CENTRO DE CANCUN). There are places that are open until dawn in case you have no time. My recommendation is to go to La Resabrosa or Los Tarascos, they are located in AVE. TULUM. You can take a bus from your hotel to Cancun Downtown and then a taxi to the restaurant.

Thank you for taking the time to read What to do when you arrive to Cancun, hope you enjoyed it. Please share the link with your friends on the Social Network!

  • Visit the World Wonder of Chichen Itza

Visit the World Wonder of Chichen Itza

    Chichen Itza, Yucatán Mexico

Chichen Itza is one of the 7 wonders of the world, it is an archaeological site that you can not miss. It has hundreds of amazing & interesting structures like temples and pyramids the Mayans created thousand years ago. If you visit the World Wonder of Chichen Itza, keep reading this important article!

    Where is located Chichen Itza?

Cancun-to-Chichen-MapThis World Wonder is located in the State of Yucatán, Mexico 121 kilometers east of the city of Merida. From Cancun, Chichen Itza is 268 km away, about a 3 hour trip. I would recommend that if you want to travel in comfort and without stops in other cities, book a Shuttle, it will pick you up in your hotel and take you directly to Chichen Itza with some good benefits: air conditioning, music and a quick stop for snacks and beverages. (Some Tours to Chichen Itza have transportation included, click here to see more)

    What’s inside Chichen Itza?

Here are several amazing structures built by the Mayas that you are going to see in your trip to Chichen Itza:

    Kukulkan Pyramid

    KUKULKAN
Certainly, Kukulkan is the most recognized structure in Chichen Itza, you have surely see it. Something incredible about Kukulkan is the phenomenon that occurs each summer and autumn equinox where a snake can be seen descending from the pyramid.

    Cenote Sagrado

Cenote-sagradoThis cenote, located inside Chichen Itza, where given offerings to God Chaac (the Lord of Rains) and also where high-ranking prisioners were held sacrifice.

Currently valuable pieces are found in this cenote as jades, obsidian knives, gems, precious stones, treasures and skeletons but it’s said this cenote has not been fully explored.

    El Caracol (Observatory)
    EL-Caracol

It is also called the Temple of Venus, because observing and studying this planet was one of the most important objects of study for the Mayans. The observations made from the Mayan Caracol were intuitive in many cases only using the eye. That was how the Mayans predicted 29 eclipses, equinoxes, solstices, etc. These predictions can be seen through the sculptures located in the Caracol.

The Great Ball Game (Juego de Pelota)

Juego-de-pelotaThe Great Ball Game is a huge field oriented north / south direction. The point of this game for the Mayans was a rematch between the team captains to show who was going to be beheaded. The whole scene is done in each game displayed on a disc in the center of each slope that borders the area of the game.

    Jaguar Temple
    Templo-del-jagaur

This temple, part of the ball game, it’s called Jaguar Temple because of the amount of jaguars carved that has its structure in the main part.

    The Temple of the Warriors

Templo-de-guerreroIn the eastern part of the square of Chichen Itza, you will find the Temple of the Warriors. Here is where you will see the incredible castle surrounded by “A Thousand Columns”.
The Thousand Columns are one of my favorite structures and performances. Each column represents something very interesting: within the human being even though each one has a negative part we all also carry our part of being warriors, which help us fight this negativity and evil that we carry inside.

    7. Visit Puyo

What to do in Baños Ecuador

Puyo is part of the Amazonas, very cultivated and loved by the people who live there. My friends and I first took a boat tour on the river, outskirts of Puyo. We met people from everywhere and jumped into the River (no piranhas or dangerous animals). After that, the tourist guide took us across a bridge to the entrance of Puyo and gave us this drink called “CHICHA”. The original Chicha is a drink made by the habitants of there, made of sugar cane which they chew it and this is how the drink goes. The legend says that it you don’t drink it is a sign of disrespect and they will despise you. We affortunately tasted the one made of Sweet Potato, I didn’t like it but my friends did.
After that, we were taught how to launch a weapon with which the natives kill their preys, we painted our faces, saw a 2 meters Boa and entered the forest…
Our guide showed us some of what he know about the forest, like vegetation and species.
Then the best, the incredible scenery while climbing mountains of Puyo.. a unique feeling. We took this big rope and jump like tarzan. Here’s a video:

Then we headed to the waterfalls in Puyo: The tour started walking through the forest, there was a time when we got lost and felt in a program of Discovery Channel hahaha, the weather affected us…

The waterfalls were amazing in Puyo, Agua Santa (the largest) is very famous in the world. It’s amazing, the water hits with full force when you’re underneath it that you can not even swim haha. It is important to take your water camera. 😉
