A World of Film

While a distinct focus is placed on cultivating Mexican filmmakers in programs like the RivieraLAB, 53 of last year’s 70 featured films hailed from across the globe – China, Ireland, France, Russia, Argentina, and the United States, just to name a few. All screenings and premieres are divided into the following categories:

Mexican Platform – Strictly national voices.

  •         Galas – Two to four films and their crews are honored at these special events.
  •         Planetarium – Films in this category treat cinema as social activism.
  •         Wide Audience – These films target the general public with human narratives.
  •         Author Panorama – This section eyes film’s future through an avant-garde lens.
  •         RivieraLAB Presents – Young filmmakers nurtured by RMFF screen work in all stages of development.
