Hi there, do you know you can scuba dive between two continents?
I have did number 4, hope I can dive in all of them! Here are the world’s weirdest places to scuba dive:
1. Continental Rift in Iceland
One of the top places to dive in the world, here’s where you can scuba dive between two continents. The rift of Silfra in Island Thingvellier Park is where the tectonic plates meet. Some rather diving, others just snorkeling. A very surprising thing is the visibility in the rift of Silfra, about 100 meters. All divers say they feel flying on space when they try this experience. The reason for this water visibility are that the water is really cold (2°C-4°C all year) that is also becomes ice for the close glaciar water of Langjökull and this water is filtered through porous inderground lava for 30-100 years until it reaches the north end of Thingvellir lake. This is water is so pristine that you an drink it anytime during your diving or snorkel!
2. Mysterious Ruins in Japan
On the southern coast of Yonaguni, Japan, lie this mysterious ruins of long time ago. Some think alliens made them, others think is just a World Nature Wonder! This mysterious ruins underwater continue attracting fearless divers!
3. Indonesia active volcano underwater
You want to see a volcano from close without the threat of toxic air and lava flows? Yes it can be possible and it can be done at Banua Wuhu! This underwater volcano rises more than 400 meters from the sea floor. Exotic animals like sponges habit here. There is a unique and diverse world here. You might think it is dangerous but no, the only thing that is a little uncomfortable it’s if you don’t wear the right dive suit.
4. MUSA Underwater Museum in Cancun, Mexico
This is the one I’ve dived into, it was one of the best experiences. If you head to the Caribbean in Mexico. There is the MUSA, an underwater museum with more than 400 statues surrounded by marine life and coral reefs. Each statue has an eye formation to protect theirselves and the sea life. The moment you are there in front of one, you might feel a little nervous!
5. Nepture Memorial Reef (UNDERWATER CEMENTERY)
A little more than 5 kilometers from the Coast of Miami, there’s this different diving experience and a little creepy. An artificial reef that becomes a CEMENTERY! It is a truly world like no other. This cemetery beneath the waves is a special spot that people can make their final resting place.

Cancun International Airport (CUN) is a gateway to the Mayan Riviera, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Isla Mujeres and Cozumel.
Arriving to Cancun
When you land in Cancun International Airport, your first mission is to pass immigration: this is where you will be asked to give your tourist card, which you should take care of it on your vacations in Cancun, do not miss it because you will need it for your return flight to your home.
After that, you should go pick up your bags and continue to security checkpoint.
There, you will be asked to press a button, be lucky to get a green light so you are clear to go. If you get to get a red light (which almost never happens) your bags will go through revision.
After going through security at Cancun International Airport, go find the exit to locate the person who is waiting for you with your shuttle. Remember to completely exit the Cancun International Airport. When you get to the terminal, locate a sign with your name which the company you booked your shuttle.
(There will be many people who’ll want to sell you transportation and cheat on you, if you don’t see a sign with your name just ignore them).
When you are ready to depart from Cancun International Airport, you will need to find your airline at the check in, give your tourist card and bags. That card is stapled on your boarding pass.
Check the time and when you are ready, pick up your hand luggage and enter to security. On your departure from Cancun International Airport, you can find a food court and many shopping stores. If you have time before leaving, you can grab something to eat or buy some mexican presents for your friends and family. When boarding, your tourist card will be removed from your boarding pass. Make sure you don’t lose that tourist card before boarding!!
Arriving to Cancun can be very fun and exciting since the moment you set foot in the Caribbean. But as in any destination, It is best to come prepared and avoid any inconvenience to your arrival.
What is the best? I made a list of things you should do when you arrive to Cancun.
1. Know how to transport yourself from the airport
At Cancun Airport, you will find on each corner all kind of vendors who want to take you to your hotel. But if you want to SAVE MONEY AND TIME waiting to make your reservation there, I suggest you book your transportation ONLINE before traveling. If you are traveling with family or friends, the best way is to book a private shuttle to take all of you to your hotel or stay without delays. Some of these shuttles make a quick stop at a convenience store in case you want something to drink along the way.
2. Reserve your room hotel
Cancun counts with more than 1200 hotels where you can stay in case you don’t know where to go. Some are cheaper than others. It is always better to come prepared. As I mentioned earlier, online booking will always be cheaper than if you book directly at the hotel, don’t forget this!
3. Enjoy a tour in Cancun
If you are looking What to do when you arrive to Cancun, you can not miss one of the hundreds of tours that are in Cancun! Including the Riviera Maya, Tulum & Yucatán. In my experience, these are the best 5 tours recommended:
-Xelha:A water park for all ages in which you can perform hundreds of activities: Snorkeling, swimming with sharks, buffets, pools, cenotes, caverns, biking, ziplines and more.
-Chichen Itza: Do not miss one of the 7 World Wonders. Chichen Itza is part of this and include good tours to know all the archaeological site. There is a very cool tour called “Chichen Itza Light & Sound” in which you can enjoy a day and the night show.
-Isla Mujeres: A beautiful paradise island located 30 minutes from Cancun, you must take a ferry to get there. What you can do at Isla Mujeres is a day at the beach, travel around the island on a golf cart and spend the night in one of the many bars or clubs. Isla Mujeres sunsets are unforgettable.
-Tulum: In my opinion, Tulum is one of the best beaches and destinations of Cancun I visited. This is an ecological destination where in the evening, darkness let you see the starry sky. I recommend you book a hotel at the sea shore and close to the restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious dinner with music and shows.
-Scuba Diving:If you want to feel what is to live in the World of Nemo, you must dive in Cancun. It has coral reefs of all colors and exotic fish. It is a unique opportunity that you will never forget. Cancun Diving offers several tours during the day and at night. Click here for more information.
4. Go eat Mexican Food
One of the main desires of the foreigners is to try Mexican food, because it is unique and can not be imitated in any other country. I suppose that you want to taste the best tacos in Cancun. I recommend you to go to Cancun Downtown (CENTRO DE CANCUN). There are places that are open until dawn in case you have no time. My recommendation is to go to La Resabrosa or Los Tarascos, they are located in AVE. TULUM. You can take a bus from your hotel to Cancun Downtown and then a taxi to the restaurant.
Thank you for taking the time to read What to do when you arrive to Cancun, hope you enjoyed it. Please share the link with your friends on the Social Network!

Chichen Itza is one of the 7 wonders of the world, it is an archaeological site that you can not miss. It has hundreds of amazing & interesting structures like temples and pyramids the Mayans created thousand years ago. If you visit the World Wonder of Chichen Itza, keep reading this important article!
Where is located Chichen Itza?
This World Wonder is located in the State of Yucatán, Mexico 121 kilometers east of the city of Merida. From Cancun, Chichen Itza is 268 km away, about a 3 hour trip. I would recommend that if you want to travel in comfort and without stops in other cities, book a Shuttle, it will pick you up in your hotel and take you directly to Chichen Itza with some good benefits: air conditioning, music and a quick stop for snacks and beverages. (Some Tours to Chichen Itza have transportation included, click here to see more)
What’s inside Chichen Itza?
Here are several amazing structures built by the Mayas that you are going to see in your trip to Chichen Itza:
Kukulkan Pyramid
Certainly, Kukulkan is the most recognized structure in Chichen Itza, you have surely see it. Something incredible about Kukulkan is the phenomenon that occurs each summer and autumn equinox where a snake can be seen descending from the pyramid.
Cenote Sagrado
This cenote, located inside Chichen Itza, where given offerings to God Chaac (the Lord of Rains) and also where high-ranking prisioners were held sacrifice.
Currently valuable pieces are found in this cenote as jades, obsidian knives, gems, precious stones, treasures and skeletons but it’s said this cenote has not been fully explored.
El Caracol (Observatory)
It is also called the Temple of Venus, because observing and studying this planet was one of the most important objects of study for the Mayans. The observations made from the Mayan Caracol were intuitive in many cases only using the eye. That was how the Mayans predicted 29 eclipses, equinoxes, solstices, etc. These predictions can be seen through the sculptures located in the Caracol.
The Great Ball Game (Juego de Pelota)
The Great Ball Game is a huge field oriented north / south direction. The point of this game for the Mayans was a rematch between the team captains to show who was going to be beheaded. The whole scene is done in each game displayed on a disc in the center of each slope that borders the area of the game.
Jaguar Temple
This temple, part of the ball game, it’s called Jaguar Temple because of the amount of jaguars carved that has its structure in the main part.
The Temple of the Warriors
In the eastern part of the square of Chichen Itza, you will find the Temple of the Warriors. Here is where you will see the incredible castle surrounded by “A Thousand Columns”.
The Thousand Columns are one of my favorite structures and performances. Each column represents something very interesting: within the human being even though each one has a negative part we all also carry our part of being warriors, which help us fight this negativity and evil that we carry inside.
An exclusive and detailed list of what to do in Baños, Ecuador. Baños, Ecuador is one of the best places to visit in all Ecuador. If you are planning to visit this incredible place next to the Amazonas and surrounded by Andes Mountains, I promise you will not regret. First of all is very important to have all prepared before your arrival so you don’t miss a place where to stay, transportation and the amazing activities. Below this, I will give you a list of things of what to do in Baños, Ecuador and make the most of every moment you are there.
1. Book your transportation ROUNDTRIP to Baños
Depending on the place where you depart is the time of your departure, I traveled from Guayaquil, it took 8 hours to reach Baños in a Bus. You can buy your tickets at the terminal of the city where you are or you can book an airport shuttle if you are at the airport. It is very important that you buy your tickets with anticipation so you don’t run out of time! Baños, Ecuador is one of the best places to visit in all Ecuador.
2. Book your stay in Baños
It is very important that you book your stay days before. Baños is a very small town, it offers hostals and hotels for backpackers that pass their adventure trip in Baños. I stood in Hostal El Molino Blanco, a very nice hostal with breakfast included located right next to the mountains in Baños. You can book online or by call.
Hostal El Molino Blanco
3. Bring the right clothes
Baños is a cold place, there are so many activities you can do that you’ll have to fill your backpack with at least 2 outfits per day. I recommend you to bring warm clothes for cold, clothes for the water activities, for going out at night and pijamas. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen and insect repellent for this equatorial climate. Remember that you’re gonna be in the jungle so mosquitoes will be waiting…
4. Visit the Waterfalls of Baños
Something that stands out from Baños de Agua Santa, is the amount of the unique waterfalls famous worldwide. They are spectacular! I visit some while we were on the road with our chaffeur Francisco! From the western entrance to Baños, there is the Route of Orchids, Waterfalls and Guayabas. This route passes all the way Baños (Mera-Puyo). Here’s the list of what to do in Baños, Ecuador at the waterfalls from west to east.
-Ines Maria -Callejera de la Virgen -Ulba -Cascadas de Chamana -Bascún -Agoyán -El Manto de la Novia -San Jorge -Cascadas el Fanstasma y El Placer -San Pedro -El Corazón -Encañonado del Duende -Cascada de Río Verde -Las 7 cascadas de Machay -Cascadas San Francisco y Refugio del Gallo de la Peña -Las 4 cascadas de Cashaurco
5. Take advantage at least of one activity on the road!
There are hundreds of activities if you are looking what to do in Baños, Ecuador offered on the way to the waterfalls and in other sites of Baños.
I did Canopying on the road to Pailon del Diablo Waterfalls, it was an insured vertigo! The tourist guide promised us that it was not dangerous and I shouldn’t be scared. From that moment I can say my fear subsided. You can be accompanied by a person in the other zipline, is fun! The photographs will be unforgettable.
6. Don’t miss the nightlife in Baños!
Bars and Clubs in Baños are super fun, you should get there early because they close at 2am (or so they say but you cans spend a little more). There are people from everywhere, especially Argentinians. We went to one called “Volcan”, the music was great from all kind: Reggaeton, Pop, Salsa, Electronica, etc! We met a lot of new people there so it was more fun. 🙂
7. Visit Puyo
Puyo is part of the Amazonas, very cultivated and loved by the people who live there. My friends and I first took a boat tour on the river, outskirts of Puyo. We met people from everywhere and jumped into the River (no piranhas or dangerous animals). After that, the tourist guide took us across a bridge to the entrance of Puyo and gave us this drink called “CHICHA”. The original Chicha is a drink made by the habitants of there, made of sugar cane which they chew it and this is how the drink goes. The legend says that it you don’t drink it is a sign of disrespect and they will despise you. We affortunately tasted the one made of Sweet Potato, I didn’t like it but my friends did. After that, we were taught how to launch a weapon with which the natives kill their preys, we painted our faces, saw a 2 meters Boa and entered the forest… Our guide showed us some of what he know about the forest, like vegetation and species. Then the best, the incredible scenery while climbing mountains of Puyo.. a unique feeling. We took this big rope and jump like tarzan. Here’s a video:
Then we headed to the waterfalls in Puyo: The tour started walking through the forest, there was a time when we got lost and felt in a program of Discovery Channel hahaha, the weather affected us…
The waterfalls were amazing in Puyo, Agua Santa (the largest) is very famous in the world. It’s amazing, the water hits with full force when you’re underneath it that you can not even swim haha. It is important to take your water camera. 😉
8. Go to Casa del Árbol and take a picture there
You should not miss this important attraction! Pictures are really cool on the swing against the mountain scenery!
Every moment in Baños was fun and we enjoyed it a lot! If you are looking what to do in Baños, Ecuador I recommend you make count all the points mentioned and do not forget to share this article with your group of travelers. 🙂 Have a great trip!
Cancun is a city located on the northeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. It is an important renowned tourist destination in Mexico. The city is located on the Caribbean Sea, and is one of the easternmost points in Mexico. Cancun is located just north of Mexico’s Caribbean coast resort band known as the Riviera Maya.
Apart from the island tourist zone (actually part of the world’s second-longest coral reef), the Mexican residential section of the city, the downtown part of which is known as “El Centro,” follows a master plan that consists of “supermanzanas” or superblocks, giant trapezoids with a central, open, non-residential area cut in by u-shaped residential streets.
Tulum is the main north-south artery, connecting downtown to the airport, which is some 30 km (19 mi) south of downtown.
There are some small Mayan vestiges of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization in Cancun. El Rey is located in the Hotel Zone.
Close by in the Riviera Maya and the Grand Costa Maya, there are sites such as Cobá and Muyil the small Polé, and Kohunlich, Kinichná, Dzibanché, Oxtankah, Tulum, and Chacchoben, in the south of the state. Chichen Itzá is in the neighboring state of Yucatán.
In Cancun you will find a variety of activities that you can enjoy with your family and friends, because this city have everything for you, You can go to the beach, visit archeological ruins, Party at the Coco Bongo or having an adventure tour.
You can also take the ferry to visit Isla Mujeres where you have many activities like Swimming with dolphins and making this experience much better. From May to September you can swim with whalesharks too I really think that if you visit Cancun you will totally love this city.
In Discovery Mundo we offer many tours for everyone like, Chichen Itza Light and Sound where you can enjoy a 3D mapping projection, dramatic lighting and amazing images! I think this is one of my favorite tours but I would really love swimming in the Cenote that would be fantastic for me because I really enjoy the nature, but I recommend this tour for sure! Or an extreme tour like Jungle Tour where you can enjoy the most popular and exciting tour, driving your own two-person speed boat through the green mangrove channels along the nichupté lagoon.
